Great for Black XBOX 360 or CASE MODDED BLACK 360.Smart LED Storm 360
The plug of the Intercooler 360 EX IS NOT compatible with the new XBOX 360 Resident Evil. The plug had a straigt plastic line right beside the 6 electrical pins that hindered me from pluging it in. I went with the black cooling station.
Within one week after using it, it started acting up. 1) Very Loud2) One of the fans is even louder than the other 2.3) Doesn't always shut off when box is shut off.DO NOT BUY.
I was aware of the RROD phenomenon so I figured anything I could do to prevent that couldn't hurt. I've had the 360 with this thing on it for about 2-3 weeks solid playing a modest 4-5 hours a day on it. Then again, the normall whir of the 360 is a bit noisy as well so this might not be an issue for most people. Only minor drawback is that this fan is kinda noisy. Not a huge thing but wasn't aware of that. Along with the wireless adapter, everthing fits perfectly on my 360.
I was originally under the impression that this thing, having 3 fans and all, blew cool air into the 360. In actuality, it sucks air out of the unit instead. I recently purchased my 360 Elite (thanks Circuit City for going belly up). This will allow some cooler air to circulate underneath the unit which helps out this fan unit quite a bit. In any event, once you plug this thing in and let er rip, you'll notice ALOT of hot air coming out that would've normally been lingering around in the 360. Have had no problems with anything so far. My only "real" regret is that I got this in white instead of black to match my Elite 360.
Number wise, they do a little bit of help. I saw this cooler (oddly enough at Circuit City's firesale) for dirt cheap so I picked it up. Overall, I think this does help quite a bit to alleviate the hot air in the 360. On the box for this, it shows you certain areas within the unit and what the temperatures in there are like with and without the fans. The worst I think was only a 4 degree difference. What I've also noticed that helps out a bit is to put your 360 on a mesh or wire stand. Overall, highly recommend this as a "necessary" item for your 360.
I BOUGHT MY XBOX 360 ELITE AND BOUGHT THIS INTER COOLER AT THE SAME TIME SO THAT MY XBOX DOSE NOT GET THE THREE RINGS OF DEATH.WELL, ITS BEEN ABOUT 8 MONTHS SINCE I BOUGHT BOTH AND GUESS WHERE MY XBOX 360 ELITE IS.YOU GUESSED RIGHT, THREE RINGS OF DEATH AND GETTING FIXED BY MICROSOFT.OH ANOTHER VERY IMPORTANT THING. IF YOU THOUGHT YOUR XBOX FAN NOISE WAS LOUD. WELL THIS DEVICE IS JUST GOING TO MAKE IT MUCH LOUDER.
